Issue 2: Page 22
I am making good progress on comments and emails; I am sooo beat. But I am smiling! Because, you see, thanks to you good readers, we broke the top fifty on Topwebcomics this weekend! So give yourselves a pat on the back, y’all. You rock.
Quick site-related note: evildivacomics.com will probably be going doing for thirty minutes (or so) on Wednesday evening, around 5PM PST.
EDIT: TUESDAY 3PM PST: I just got word: no new page tomorrow! We’ve got another big job, and more importantly, a big deadline.
Sorry guys! We just did the math, though, and I think we’ll be safe from interruptions after Wednesday
March 16th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
FIRST POST!!!!! I think she’ll probably end up going anyway.
March 16th, 2009 at 8:43 pm
oh, she’ll definitely go. It would be awful of them to tease us like that.
March 16th, 2009 at 8:46 pm
You win! And … I think you may be right. >.> <.<
March 17th, 2009 at 4:10 am
Grarwgggg…. This comic makes me so dern happy for one major reason. It shows that NOTHING is black and white in our world, and the people who masquerade as good guys may or may not actually be good people. Armagad.
March 17th, 2009 at 5:15 am
I think she is going to go anyways to watch over Angela. Maybe she gets jumped or something and Diva will be there to save the day. Hooooray!
March 17th, 2009 at 5:47 am
But wouldn’t your charisma stat affect your credibility?
In other news, I have a new Blog. If you like reading random fiction, then please drop by.

End shameless plug.

Maybe I’m weird but I’ve always valued a high charisma score. But then again I like to play socially active characters. Anywhoo
I’m looking forward to how this is going to go down.
And BTW … not to tell you how to write … but I think you mean newb, since it seems to me that Diva is trying to learn the terms.
March 17th, 2009 at 9:13 am
Yes, that would make us terrible, evil, no good people, wouldn’t it? >:D
March 17th, 2009 at 9:23 am
Congrats on the Top50!! Well, it’s a new day, time for a new vote on my part… !
March 17th, 2009 at 9:27 am
And your comment makes me very happy because dude, that is exactly the larger point. :D :D :D
March 17th, 2009 at 9:56 am
I actually play a bard (on FFXI) so charisma is my stat of choice as well. Michelle is probably a melee character!
I chose “noob” because you so rarely hear “newb” anymore on my game/server. The pejorative has actually drifted toward “nub” in my experience, but … I’m sure it’s different in different games/servers. Thank you for pointing out the different usage. And thanks for reading! ^^
March 17th, 2009 at 10:06 am
Maaaaaaaaybe.
… Are you psychic?
March 17th, 2009 at 11:39 am
I love that gradient shadow over Michelle’s face in the fourth panel. So ominous…
March 17th, 2009 at 12:08 pm
hahahaha nOOb. oh mitchelle ….
March 17th, 2009 at 2:11 pm
Awww… :) I’m joking, I’m glad that you got another job. Good luck!
March 17th, 2009 at 2:13 pm
Top 50 today, #1 tomorrow!!
Oooooorrr, at least it deserves to be. I really adore this comic. :)
( The shadow on Michelle’s face looks really ominous. * 0* )
March 17th, 2009 at 2:56 pm
Cheers from Sweden! Long-time reader, first-time commenter. I really enjoy your comic, it’s super cute, innocent and colorful yet deals with some serious issues. I’ll keep on reading as if I was a kid with a Harry Potter book. ^^
March 17th, 2009 at 3:46 pm
hahaah this one was inda funny but diva looks really concern and michelle said noob to diva XD
March 17th, 2009 at 3:48 pm
You draw the bessst faces! And angles too! I wonder what they will do to Angela! =O!
March 17th, 2009 at 4:09 pm
I love Michelle’s expression in the last panel. Almost looks like an “Oh-no-she-did-NOT-just-do/say-that!” face. XD I continue to love Evil Diva and so I shall keep reading!
March 17th, 2009 at 4:15 pm
Woo! DnD references.
March 17th, 2009 at 6:36 pm
Very nice. I like it so far. :P
March 17th, 2009 at 7:40 pm
Ionno if it’s intentional or not but it seems Michelle is missing her halo in the last panel.
March 17th, 2009 at 9:02 pm
SOMEBODY is obviously not playing 4th edition. Where would the warlock and warlord be without charisma?
March 17th, 2009 at 10:28 pm
I can’t understand how Angela is an angel!!! She’s so evil!!! And I just keep waiting for Diva’s horns to morph into a halo–she’s wayyy too big-hearted for her own good!
March 18th, 2009 at 12:44 am
Nice comic. Kinda really makes you think about good and evil, and what they are, anyway.
March 18th, 2009 at 12:53 am
That DnD reference made me grin super wide.
Charisma is always the dumpstat. Unless your a Sorcerer. Or a Cleric.
(Or a Bard.)
March 18th, 2009 at 2:53 am
I think it’s fantastic you made it on the simple side to grasp as well. I hope this is still around in a few years, I’ll let my niece read it. You know, when she can read.
March 18th, 2009 at 7:00 am
Am I the only one who LOVES the ominous shadow over Michelle’s face in panel 4?
Sweet.
March 18th, 2009 at 9:13 am
That’s a good question! And one I don’t readily know the answer to, since my familiarity with stats is limited to MMOs. ^^;
I checked out your blog — I like the design! Are you going to be posting a lot of writing there?
March 18th, 2009 at 9:14 am
Thank you so much! Your voting must’ve really helped, because we just cracked 40 last night! :D
March 18th, 2009 at 9:21 am
Why thank you! To be completely honest, I hadn’t thought of it that way, but you’re right: she advocating staying out of this whole mess, which isn’t exactly nice. Ominous indeed!
March 18th, 2009 at 9:24 am
Thank you! This is gonna be another short week sadly, too. D: I mean, it’s awesome that we’ve gotten so many jobs lately, but the story is heating up! I wanna finish it!
March 18th, 2009 at 9:27 am
/pumps fist in the air
YES PLEASE! :D
Thanks for your comments.
March 18th, 2009 at 9:31 am
Hi Jonas! It makes me really happy that this comic gives you the Harry Potter feeling, because that’s exactly the model I’m trying to follow — a story that is superficially friendly and easy to read for kids, but that doesn’t mince words with serious problems. It’s a safe place to talk about scary stuff like racism and prejudice. And I’m glad you’re reading. :3
March 18th, 2009 at 9:52 am
I play a bard on FFXI soooo …
I may the person that everyone wants in their party, but god help me if I’m on my own and get aggro. XD
March 18th, 2009 at 9:54 am
Thanks! Poor Diva probably has no idea what a noob is. ^^;
March 18th, 2009 at 9:57 am
Thank you. I remember reading about Ennis doing “Preacher” — he said he worried a lot about how to make long stretches of people talking visually interesting. Now I know that problem firsthand! The angles are just an attempt to address that. ^^;
March 18th, 2009 at 10:00 am
Haha, that’s exaaactly what I was shooting for! XD Thanks for continuing to read.
March 18th, 2009 at 3:17 pm
yep she problably didnt X3
March 18th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
Oooh, I wonder is Diva will make use of her disguise! You teased us with the whole Mr. Virgil/costume thing but I haven’t seen it since it’s first appearance…. maybe now we’ll get into some juicy parts…
March 18th, 2009 at 7:19 pm
Yeah, the plan is to churn out something new every Monday and post older stuff on Wednesdays and Fridays.
March 19th, 2009 at 2:14 am
Well duh, Charisma can’t be a dump stat for every class, even in 3.5 (IMO a much better system). I mean, the sorceror can’t magic without charisma and the Paladin and Cleric can’t turn undead without it. but for other classes it doesn’t really matter.
March 20th, 2009 at 12:51 am
So you’re that one guy who desperately needs to be around people all the time.
The FFXI Bard is everyone’s clingy friend who sometimes buys them coffee.
March 20th, 2009 at 7:13 am
Great stuff! I kinda miss your old web design though, it had a fun/kiddy feel to it :] Look forward to the update!
March 20th, 2009 at 8:55 pm
And then Dante will save her >:0!
I’m living the epic shadow she has at the fourth panel x’)
March 20th, 2009 at 11:42 pm
Charisma, a dump stat?
Obviously Michelle’s never played any of the Fallout games.
March 22nd, 2009 at 11:56 am
The FFXI Bard is actually that person they chain to their basement to prevent escape, only to release them when they want merits. :(
P.S: Love the Comic.
October 20th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
dump stat, huh?

March 28th, 2010 at 8:58 am
Dramatic lighting is dramatic!
Also, Michelle has a little geek in her, hrm? Personally I prefer to put points into Charisma, but then, I have a preference for rogues, so…
January 13th, 2011 at 4:39 am
I usually make strength my dump stat.
