ROMA: Loki: Nine
Whoooa. This is perhaps the latest one yet — I apologize profusely. I honestly don’t know how the time got away from me. (Seriously, I somehow lost around two hours between leaving work and getting home. I mean, I know I stopped to get some food … and I did look for a Christmas present or two … >.>)
At least there’s only one more ROMA left. Friday should be the issue five cover (assuming it doesn’t take me forever to paint it), then I’m jetting off to Florida for the holidays. I can’t wait to see my family!
Today’s incentive is the thumbnail sketch for the issue five cover — it’s going to be a painted montage this time. FUN.

Exactly, what’s this if it isn’t Terry Pratchett’s Rule One in full effect again? Though I suppose Loki could be forgiven for forgetting it. After all, Virgil’s hair is still thick and lustrous.

Ah, poor snake… You can tell he’s totally upset by all of this. He probably got made fun of too often when he was young I suppose…
And Virgil certainly has his own sense of diplomacy. He deals with dangerous situations in a very… interesting way. At least they’re effective.

…Wow. Wasn’t expecting that. The old guy has some guts left in him!
I think that Virgil and Loki must have at least worked something out in the next few years because they seem like friends in the present…

Looks like Virgil comes from the school of Rorschach style of fighting. Just becouse he’s a really old man facing down a norse god does not mean that Loki has much of a chance to win.
Um, Lady Brinson-sama? You’ll be gone the whole week next week right? will we be getting fillers then?

I look at Virgil as the kind of guy who will fight back if pushed, but he’ll probably end it too. (Actually, speaking of Rorshach: there will be a visual reference to him next issue. But it won’t be in conjunction with Virgil!)
As for next week (and a bit after, til the new year), the site won’t be updated. Sorry! It’s really the only vacation I get all year, so I try to be as lazy as I can. ;) Thanks for the nice comment.

Perhaps, “oh, pull yourself together, you big baby.”
This really is best delivered by an older woman with an impeccable accent or failing that a PE teacher, but Virgil could probably pull it off if he wanted to. I have faith in him!

More ROMA more ROMA! I hope Loki will pop up more next chapter. With his mystique stripped away in this ROMA we can truely appreciate his wickedness >3
does loki count as a ROMA? I guess he is really old… if he doesn’t look it x3

That is so trickster god–not getting the original meaning. (“I suppose I could throttle you with my bare hands.”) And the follow up (. . . “vile old man.”) This page is truly epic.
