Issue 5: Cover
I had so much fun painting the issue four cover that I just had to try a full montage this time! This is it for me until the New Year — we’ll be back in early January with issue five. Until then, stay safe and warm. <3
(I won't be out of touch, though. I plan to keep checking in on comments, and I'm hoping to get the fanart gallery updated before I leave for Florida on Monday. I've got a backlog of awesome art a mile long.)
Today’s incentive features Diva and Angela and is the last of holiday sketches. Enjoy! And thank you for continuing to vote for us.

Thank you Kylde! But trust me, it was definitely hard work. Every one of these I learn something new. :3
And thanks regarding the vacation! Hope you have a nice New Year.

Wow! The conbination of the tennis shoes and trial make me think “Holes!” Maybe Angela will be sent to that crazy camp and have to carry a guy up a mountain to break the faimly curse?

well, that wraps up 2009 just nicely. i hope 2010 will be even better!
Now then my Lady Brinson-sama, go and enjoy Florida (and your folks) as much as you can take. Go and enjoy warm and sunny weather. don’t mind me at all, i’ll be here when you get back.
… I’ll be here.. here with below freezing temps, gloomy over cast skies, and getting a foot and a half of snow [and as of this posting STILL falling]. Don’t get me wrong, i would love to finally get a white christmas for once in my life. but this is A LOT of snow here and getting stuck in my house is annoying.
Am i jealous? … just a little i guess.

jealous? You have SNOW, why on earth are you jealous? Here in Georgia, we’ve had RAIN. Ran at about 40 degrees. Whenever there is even a remote possibility of snow everyone freaks. (I got that ******** if you want it to snow add another snowflake and pass this on message like 100 times) You get to build snow forts, make snow angels, shovel your mean neighbors doors shut, spell out words on your lawn, attempt to build the single most epic snow fort ever, sled, ect. Get out there and ENJOY it!
End of Rant.

Have you ever tried shoveling out a long drive way that has 2 feet of snow? this stuff is HEAVY! I don’t have an SUV or a Jeep (nor a Hummer for that matter) and i live on a steep hill. The county plows are not going to get to my neighborhood till probably monday at the earliest. That means i am STUCK in my house and can’t go christmas shopping (among other things like go to work or buy food)! 40 degrees is WARM compared the 30s- 25s I’ve been getting. Thankfully my neighbors are all nice and their kids are going out and playing and what not.
Mandi-chan, you are ever so lucky that you are where you are at right now.

40 degrees is WARM, definetly. Except it;s only 40 degrees when it RAINs, and the when it’s not raining it jumps down to the low 30′s. And I have to walk outside to most all of my classes. It does suck that you can’t get out though. But seriously, make the best of it!

If you want me to be upbeat about this, i will say i am getting quite a work out shoveling out all this so i can get a chance to drive my car for the first time sense last Friday. No need to go to the gym now.
I know i’m a southern boy and i love warm weather, but i know i can take the cold a lot better than you can Lady Mandi-chan. i use to bike to classes (in the days before i bought my car) in this level of cold. 5 miles away and both ways! you young wipper snappers are too soft these days. (i’m J/K!!) ;-P

Bah! I walk to school 5 miles in the freezing rain, uphill both ways. When I was young we didn’t have silly comics like this. We had proper stories. And we didn’t have pictures either. Where did I leave my teeth? And we didn’t have televisions. Or food. Oh, there are my teeth. Biteing my leg. Now, how did they get there? I like the snake though. And Loki. And Diva of course. Come to think of it, I did have a book with pictures. I had lots of books with pictures. And four tellys. And we did have food once. Now, where have they gone? Biteing my other leg. I remember the days when teeth knew there place. In your mouth. That was where teeth went when I was young.
20 points to the house to get the reference. It’s from a christmas book.

I should have said, “Merry Christmas, and thanks for a wonderful comic! Beautiful page, by the way, and I do so wonder how the shoes are going to be used in the trial!” yesterday during my brief window of Internettage. However, one of my more…er…rambunctious characters…well, he was just heck-bent on getting a word in and things went downhill from there…
But while I am here, Merry Belated Christmas!

i know this is out of character of me, but am asking you fellow commenters to say a prayer for my farther. He suffered a major stroke on Christmas evening and is in the hospital now in the ICU. He is responding to treatment but is not out of the woods yet. I have not slept for 2 days now and have now just come back home for the first time.
the rest of my family and friends know of this and are helping out as best as they can.
I am bone tired and truely scared in as long as i can remember. please pray for my dad. i don’t know what else to do.

here is an update: thank you for your prayers and keep them coming. My dad is recovered a lot of his old movement and speech, as well as his wits. His vision is iffy at times, but he can watch TV and read a news paper now with out any more difficulty than before. He still has bouts when his blood pressure sky rockets and the docs are watching that. he is out of the ICU an into a step down unit from that. he may still have blood clots or blood clot damage and they are still taking tests to find out. he will be unlikely to leave the hospidal for another week AT BEST. they still refuse to allow him to sit on the side of his bed nor stand. i have not seen him lose so much weight so quickly. thankfully he is not in any pain, or at least he is not telling me if he is.
My older brother is getting married next month on the 16th, i am praying that he will be able to make it in time….

I’m getting along OK, but it’s tireing. My mother and I are shouldering the work of running my family business and takeing turns being by my dad’s bed side. He might get discharged real soon and sent to a rehab center where he’ll be living in for maybe up to a week. I’m real thankful my town has a MAJOR medical hospidal with a very diverse outlyeing (but rather near) medical suport offices and services. We don’t have to go far.
this whole thing has shaken to me to the core. it’s made me really think about many things. i’ll make it, but it’ll take me a bit to get back to my old self. i’m glad i have a lot of friends and family helping us.

Hey Taxil,
I took a vacation from reading comment and so I didn’t catch this in time. However — I’m SO happy to hear that your dad is okay and has you and your mom to take good care of him. Family is more important than anything.
Please send him my best wishes and keep us updated.
