Issue 5: Page 12
Sorry this one is so late! Like a great big doofus, I left the file at home.
RE: this page: I think Loki went to the Sarah Palin school of charm. XD
RE: comments: it’s been awhile since I addressed comment stuff! Firstly, if it is your first time commenting, the system will automatically flag your comment for moderation. Fear not! I just have to manually approve it, so please give me up to 12 hours to take care of that.
I’m no fan of censorship, but I DO want to make this site friendly for all ages and genders. Please, if you do curse, don’t take it personally if I filter the word — I’ve got as foul a mouth as anyone, and I certainly don’t think such words are a big deal, but I want this to be a safe place for everyone.
Make no mistake: I welcome criticism and dissent. I’m not attempting to censor anyone’s opinions on the comic, good or bad. If I do have an issue with the content of a comment, I will generally contact you via email to explain my problems. I’ve only banned one dude ever, and that was because he was being really gross.
I hope that’s all copacetic! If you have any questions or anything … leave a comment!
Today’s incentive continues the V-day theme with Diva as Cupid. (Really, I’ll take any excuse to draw her in a pretty costume!)

Really cool! But I think there’s a typo. “are you going to question my about my involvement”
Anyways I love this comic! ^_^

The webcomic rating site has been down since friday, I can’t see the incentive and I couldn’t see the last one either.

It’s weird, it’s been on and off for me too. I got errors the first time I tried to vote tonight, but it worked the second time. I hope he’s not getting DDOSed or anything. ;__;

Ah, sorry to hear the commenting was getting out of hand. On the bright side, Diva’s face makes me laugh EVERY TIME I think about it.

It’s no big deal — definitely not any problems with our regulars here, anyway. ^^ I just wanted people to know why sometimes I surreptitiously filter a word here and there.
Anyway, thank you! I sorta giggled the whole time I drew it.

I might need insulin after seeing that incentive. SO. DARN. CUTE. And yet oddly elegant… I haven’t generally thought of Diva as elegant (though she might grow into it).

Heehee, if everyone has diabetes by the end of this issue, my work here is done. :< But thank you! I’m sure she’s got a little elegance in her SOMEWHERE, but I tend to think of her as hampered by pubescent awkwardness.

Gads! There seems to be a new Mouse in the house!
Just like Bethany and Bethany I shall have to change my name even though I’ve been around for a while.
And on topic: Yes indeed the incentive is nice. :)
And I agree with a previous comment. Diva’s face in the first panel is the best! :D

OMG, Diva just pulled off the best “WTF” expression i have seen in awhile. I’m surprised that no one has yet commented on that wonderful little “i have no idea” look between Michelle and Gabe. But the grand prize is that Loki the Hypno-Bishie was about to make the normally unflappable Mr. Virgil to do a facepalm!
I hope that head cold is passing Lady Brinson-sama. …. oh, and yes, it looks like i’m about to get buried in the snow again.

I… I just fell in love with Loki all over again. And the expressions in this page are just epic. All of them. They’re amazing.
Diva: WTF? o.O
Gabriel: … Hmph.
Michelle: IDK
Virgil: OMG. I hate my life.
Loki: ;D
Loki: *smirk*
And the incentive is absolutely adorable! Diva looks cute with that hairstyle.

Was the wink knowingly inspired by Alan Watts’s characterization of Satan as winking to God upon being confronted for seducing Eve to eat the apple?

Was Alan Watts knowingly inspired by the numerous bible references to naughty or sinful people winking?

Mike Leung Reply:

Well, he was a minister for North Western before being kicked out in a sex scandal. If you can confirm your assertion of such winking in the bible, I would have to agree that that’s the most plausible source.

Well, the most interesting ones are
“He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow” (Prov 10:10)
“A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with froward mouth. He winketh with his eyes,” (Prov 6:12)
“Why doth thine heart carry thee away? and what do thy eyes wink at, that thou turnest thy spirit against God” (Job 15:12)
