Issue 5: Page 22

… Not gonna rewrite the HUGE boring story about LA traffic that I just typed up, but suffice to say: I made a sincere effort to update this at 6:30 PST when I said I would. However, the 405 had a different opinion on the matter. >:(

EDIT: I forgot to mention that the copy of Twilight on Diva’s nightstand is not my doing, but in fact HAI’s diabolical insertion. He leaves all sorts of crazy Easter Eggs in the art, they’re usually just too tiny to make out.

Why yes, this incentive IS re: the Oscars. Re: whom, you ask? Well, I’ll just leave that up to you.

Hahaha, I like how crooked Michelle’s halo became in the 2nd panel. Nice effect. xD

PS–despite my frantic silliness, I really don’t mind late updates.

However, that’s probably one of those things that should never be said to a webcomic artist… ;)

Heehee, your comments were taken all in good fun! Luckily we haven’t had too many late updates since getting a few pages ahead on this issue. It’s pretty nice, actually :3

UGH! The only thing worse than the 405 at rush hour is the 10 leaving Santa Monica any time after 2pm (mostly thanks to everyone trying to get on to the 405!). I don’t miss that! (But I do miss Tito’s!!)

“You’d better be up to no good!” Sometimes I wonder why Diva tries so hard to stay out of trouble. Poor mom–she tries so hard to raise a bad kid, and what thanks does she get?

Ooh! Is that a Pop-tart? It looks like frosted strawberry one (yum!!) I have to go vote tofindout.k’bye.

Oh! I get it! I get it!! (It took me a few minutes). I actually sat down and watched ALL of the Oscars (first time ever). Avatar got sooo skrooooed! I should have a chat with dad and see if he can work up anything. Someone seriously made some deals last night. grrr…animals!

Thankfully I don’t have to deal with the 405. Instead, I get to face the “Orange Crush” Interchange.
Intersection of the 5, 22, and 57 freeways. And then just under four miles south of that mess, the 5 intersects the 55.

that bad hum? never been driving in New York City in rush hour have you? or for that matter D.C. as well.

Ah, see, for the sake of oneupsmanship, I must point out LA’s dubious distinction of number one on this list: http://editorial.autos.msn.com/listarticle.aspx?cp-documentid=737386&topart=utes . ;) I actually have to pass through the 405/101 mess every day (I generally avoid the worst of it via Sepulveda and surface streets), and MSN’s not kidding when it says that there is an eight hour rush hour window.

    Lefty Reply:

Over half the people in NYC don’t drive to work though. If driving is optional how can you complain about traffic?

    taxil Reply:

lefty, have you seen WHAT rides the subways in NYC these days? last time i was on there, Borat released a live chicken in the cab. And now with NYC going down hill again, it’s getting bad down there. thankfully i won’t go thought that any more.

I once took the 5 back to LA from San Diego.

    NEVER AGAIN. :<

Oh man, I DO NOT envy the poor people who have to deal with that interchange. Even though I live in the Valley, I don’t even mess with the 101 interchange at this point — I’d rather sit out the lights on Burbank than deal with that madness.

And, heehee, very good point on Diva staying out of trouble. You’d think the girl could just humor her mother every now and then … >.>

    Thanks for the comment!

O_o darn you Lady Brinson-sama! You put that acursed Twilight is on Diva’s nightstand! and you said Diva’s a GOOD girl.

yes, i don’t like twilight for it has ruined the image of vampires and i do- … wait. wait a sec. my train of thought just went to the possablity that Diva’s mom put that there for her. on that same note i CAN see Diva’s mom getting into those books.

@ incentive: i think Diva’s Dad is in a bit of trouble. I think he just failed on his end of the contract with that director of Avatar flix.

I agreee! Noooo not Twilight! Maybe you could put Sorcerer’s Stone on there…?

But not the 117-year-old Edward. Or Jacob. Try Sirius or Remus.

Oh, the comic? Uh, uh, yeah…

Comic is epic. Wonder what Michelle will say…

Hmmm. I’m actually wondering how her mom would react if she saw Michelle. Either disgusted that she’s an angel or happy that she IS up to no good by letting her in the house. Or both.

    Kay Reply:

Actually, I think that conspiring with an angel behind mom’s back would be considered being up to something *good*.

maybe the impact of both could make her pass out from over load.
