Issue 5: Page 24
Man, am I ever ready for this weekend. Weirdly, a bit of it is due to the time change — I’ve had trouble sleeping in the morning because I get too much sun in my room. Hopefully the hop forward will correct that. (Or maybe it’s just time to invest in some blackout shades.)
Pete printed the first incentive books this week, and they look fab, clocking in at nearly 70 pages. We should have them up for sale soon. ^^
Little Miss Muffet / sat on her tuffet / eating her curds and whey, / along came a spider / and sat down beside her / so she stabbed it / and stabbed it / like twenty times.

what? just like that? Diva’s mom changes her mind? Ok, that was jarring. Intresting prespectives there Lady Brinson-sama in panel 2 and 3, but why a foot shot in panel 5? i’m a bit dissapointed.
@incentive: … this could go 2 ways right now. either she’s readying herself to go out killing a lot monsters with B.B. Hood from that old video game “Dalkstalkers”. OR she– i better stop myself before this train of thought goes back into the gutter. >< (unless you all want me to hint at a few things, your call)

Dissapointed? Really? I think it’s a good shot in a funny page: after showing the hole in the ceiling which mom is oblivious to, or proud of ignoring, you see Malachelle’s sneakers/cleats/whatever and some roof debris on her; these are probably Diva’s POV.
Anyway, I thought it was cute.

well, i for one wanted to see Diva’s mom’s expression when she said “I can win this!”. Something got her mind turned around, and i for one want to know what that is.
……
This might be a long shot, but maybe, JUST maybe, Loki the Hypno-Bishie popped in and did a Jedi mind trick on her to take Angela’s case.

Incentives: Is it just me, or is our little Diva getting violent and enjoying killing monsters far too much? Still, I had to laugh.

Maybe she figures that she can claim professional immunity from all this? As in, there’s no morals, she’s just doing it to win? In any case, I’m starting to suspect right now that Diva doesn’t have any real blackmail.

PS: I don’t know if this was meant to be obvious and I only just picked up on it, but the doll IS Michelle. It wasn’t another switch: the doll is wearing the same shoes.

It might be, I have no idea, but I just wanted to point out that it might actually be another switch – remember how Angela and Michelle switched clothes when it happened then? Michelle might be in some frilly doll outfit… or just missing her shoes since I have no idea where the rest of her outfit went if that is the case. xD;

Man, you got that theme song down perfectly. I guess Diva’s mom figures that if she can beat the Devil himself, well, she’d better be in for a promotion. And if denying Las Aequitas from giving justice to an Angel isn’t evil to the devils, well, what is?
On the incentive, Ahhh! That poor spider! He just wanted to be friends, and she STABBED him!!! O.O

And straight from the mouths of lawyers and legal aids (that I have known) to your eyes: It doesn’t matter about innocence and guilt, right or wrong, morals or any other pipe-dream. The only things that matter are 1) Can you win? and 2) Will you get paid? That’s what I’ve learned from the people in the industry folks. So Mom here is right on line with a ” I can win this!” challenge to her professional ego. Which actually makes her a ‘good’ lawyer, versus a ‘bad’ one who would just make sure your checks won’t bounce and shows up in court with a half prepared case they don’t even bother to use. (Or in the case of a friend of mine, the lawyer didn’t even bother to show up, but they still sent the bill!)

Good points! And I think you’re right re: her professional ego. Mom is the sort of devil who doesn’t really make distinctions about right and wrong … as long the outcome as it nets HER notoriety and money. Thanks for the very informative comment! :D
(I winced at the story about your friend. Poor guy!)
