Issue 6: Page 22

EDIT: THURSDAY: Today’s update might be a little late, perhaps afternoon/early evening PST. I have a bunch of real life stuff to take care of during the first half of the day.

Thank you to everyone who wished me well last week! I stayed home and kept my foot up and I’m as good as new. (Yes, Inception was worth it.) In my convalescence I managed to get about halfway through season one of True Blood and … yes, I do think I have a mental Loki, now. :3 (I’ve always liked him, but it was the long hair that made the light go on above my head.) What about you guys? Who would you cast for Diva, Michelle, etc? :D

Today’s incentive was a little experiment, to see if I could draw Diva a la Bruce Timm. I ended up making her waaay older than 12, oops. qq

Loki getting close to that staff gives me chills. I mean, hello, Trickster god right? Oh well, Diva was a second from combat with the Big Guy so…

    …actually I don’t know.

I’m guessing you haven’t heard what happens in season 2… I have a hard time imagining Mr. “Is there blood in my hair?!” Eric Northman anywhere near Diva. Then again… she’s already met Mr. Hooves-Horns-and-a-Pointed-Tail… Perhaps it’s not that much of a stretch.

Ok for all of you who like trueblood, PLEASE Read the books ? I mean i have only minor issues with the show but the books are amazing. They dont kill off the right characters, and they dont introduce characters that are integral T^T

but SOOKIE STACKHOUSE by Charlaine Harris is an amazing 10 book series and *grin* it’s SO worth reading it.

I love that series. I’ve never seen the show, but my step-mom loaned me the series. I’m already on book 7 and Eric is by far my fav character, though Bubba comes in a close second.

HAH ! the people who watch gthe show have NO idea who Bubba is !!!!!! they never bothered to make him a character in the series,s o i dont know how the 3rd season is going to work

If it were up to me I would cast Hannah Montana as Diva and turn this whole thing into a musical :D

O_O…. Miley Cyrus as Diva? If i was normal, i would say that would be wrong, but some how i think it fits and is good. Am I too far gone to be redeemed?

Poor Diva, must be really annoying to be so in the dark about your powers. I mean most magical girls at least get a snarky animal sidekick or something to help them out in learning how to save the world.

@incentive: very nice, still cute but she looks like she could kick a muggers tail as well. I will now have a hard time not hearing her dialogue with the voice that Barbra Gordon had on the old Batman animated show, which is not a bad thing as it was a good voice.

    Brinson Reply:

    Hahaha, very true! I was just looking at some Sailor Moon art and thinking, ‘poor Diva, she really needs a smart-aleck kitty’. XD;;

And thank you re: the incentive! Barbara Gordon was pretty awesome in B:TAS. (But then again, I loved all the girls on that. I think I wanted to be Poison Ivy when I grew up for about three months when I was ten. >.>)

Diva’s probably thinking, “What the bejeezus is going on?? EVERYONE knows about my wand!”

And about actors… Huh, that’s tough. The colouring’s not right, but maybe Ivana Baquero for Diva? Or maybe a younger Kay Panabaker. I’ve never envisioned Evil Diva as live action though, it doesn’t seem to fit in my mind. Definitely an animated series though. That would be awesome.

I love Bruce Timm style. It’s a simple design, yet it’s hard to think you can put expression of emotion in such detail.

    Reply

    Brinson Reply:

Me too! Of course I love the retro feel of it, but I can see its pragmatic uses too — it’s very easy to break figures down into their component shapes when you’re using it.

There we’re two different Bruce Timm styles. The first series (B:TAS) had thick charcoal like lines and a very clay sculpture look. The second series (TNBA) had a more streamlined, thin line look with the lots sharp angles, including Batman’s signature stiff lower lip when viewed by the side.

    taxil Reply:

OK, a little slow here, but who’s Bruce Timm?

One of the main artistic influences on the DC animated universe and a major player in much of the production side of many of its shows.

I would sooo invest in the ED movie if you ever got it on the HSX (is that site still around? They all laughed at my A-Team movie stock back in 1999, but now I must be worth millions! :-) I haz no ideas for casting. Maybe a fresh face? JUST SAY NO TO MILEY CIRUS!!!

As to this page, I can’t imagine Diva getting in very much trouble if she went on a rampage with the wand; after all, she *is* a demon.

Hey! VOTE early! VOTE often! (for Evil Diva–duh, not for some stupid politician). Quick, before Brinson heals up and gets to go out and play again!

Diva would have been a played by a younger dakota fanning, or maybe Abigail Breslin for someone current (Little Rock from Zombieland) Tia…. hrm… maybe Emily Browning.

Seconding Abigail Breslin for Diva, though Dakota Fanning would be good too (if not just a touch too old now). ♥

I LOVE Dakota fanning, although she might be more suited to play Angela now… Perhaps Annasophia Robb for Diva…

You know, Loki is really creeping me out. I’m sure Diva feels the same way. I’m sure she just wants to go home and not deal with all these god-like wierdos.

I always love when you experiment with your style, and the incentive is certainly one of those times. I’m thinking of the 1950s for some reason.

I’m sick to death of Dakota Fanning. She’s a great actor, but I’m sick of her. NOT Miley Cyrus.

Maybe Emily Browning (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events) for Diva, but she’s 22 now soo…

I’ve got nothin’ for anybody else. If we keep playing this game after later posts I may come up with something else.

(facepalm at the last panel) Diva, dear Diva, you need to learn verbal and mental Judo if you’re going to be a hero these days. You could have used the dialog momentum to excuse yourself and get away from a creepy Loki the Hypno Bishie. but NOOOOOO, you are letting him set the pace and direction. Also, i see our Loki the Hypno Bishie has toned down the smexy aura and is ramping up a new aura. An Aura of Intimidation indeed.

here is one question i would like to hear an answer too. Why is it good girls (and not so good girls and you know who YOU are) like Bad (vampire) boys? You, you, and You as well (put that cup down and type before you spill it), explain to me why do i now have Eric stuck in my head as Loki the Hypno Bishie!?!

Ooo cheescake Diva! The incentive is… wow, nice! Elegant.

Ashley Tisdale (from High School Musical, and The Suite Life of Zack & Cody) as Tia. She can play both sweet and conniving.
Chloe Moretz (in Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and as Hit Girl) as Diva. She can play an old soul as well as she can play innocent.
Tilda Swinton (from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe) as Diva’s mom. Sweet, yet Evil.
I thought about Joe Pesci or Danny DeVito for Diva’s dad, but I always thought of Diva’s dad as having a deeper voice.

    Astragali Reply:

I’d pick John Goodman as Diva’s Dad. He’s got a good balance of build, and can pull off jollity and, if necessary, anger.

Ashley Tisdale? Ick. I’ve met her in real life and she is suuuuuuch a “I’m so much better than all of you” diva. I don’t think she’d make a great Michelle at all even if she can act well enough to be in Disney shows. Especially since she’s like in her upper teens and Michelle’s 12 or 13.
